first real macrolens

eventually got enough money to buy me a real macrolens. It’s a Tamron 90mm/2.8 1:1. Read some good reviews about it and the sample pictures I found were pleasing enough.

One of the first cool pictures I took was this bumble bee, collecting it’s food from a rose. Badly enough I forgot to put the ISO down (iso1600 is used here, didn’t needed it though) and only noticed it when editing, the result is that the picture was a bit grainy. Lesson learned ? Check that iso before you start using your gear !

the color of the rose just fits in perfectly with the bee !

first macro attempts

well, as the titel states the pics below are among the results of my first macro effort.

I bought a close-up lens, mounted it on my 70-300 lens and spend some hours in the garden of my parents. It’s pretty cool how fast you can get some decent results, though it’s also pretty obvious that the close-up lens doesn’t deliver really great quality.

Taken without a tripod, I’ve used my flash with several, but it really shows off that I have more learning to do to use the thingie in a decent matter.
