butterflies

Or as the Danish people say: sommerfugl (summerbird), which describes the insect pretty good.

It was a pretty hard job to get them in a good position, they were acting pretty jumpy. However a windy day came to the rescue: with lots of wind blowing through the grass they just kept put, giving me enough time to take some macro’s. I used the reflectionscreen to keep them a bit out of the wind so I could keep the shutterspeed (and the iso) as low as possible.

-update- dennis helped me with the name, it’s a small copper probably (lycaena phlaeas) (that’s the one on picture 2 and 3, the rest I still can’t find in my book).

no idea what kind of butterfly it is (neither for the others in this set), they were pretty small, hard to find and fast. Above that: they also have magnificent wings !

and with editing you notice the grass that’s in front of a part of the wing. Bummers

also tried a few without the reflection screen to block the wind, so the grass would bend. Took me quite a few shots to get some that were sharp, but it gives a pretty funny result this way.
