birdie birdie

sorting out my archive and came across a few birdpics from holiday in Denmark. Considering it was one of these birds that probably took a dump on my backpack, I immediatly thought of this poem (no idea where I picked it up though :P ).

“little birdie in the sky,

took a shit in my eye.

I didn’t curse, I didn’t cry,

I only thanked God cows couldn’t fly”

Anyways: here are the pictures. I was sneaking up on them, most of the time crawling and taking a picture like every 30cm’s progress I made.

hiding

and here the birds finally saw me.

seaside

bit toying around with another picture of the danish coast. Having a pretty hard time though to deal with the dust that was on my sensor (just never can learn to stop switching lenses whenever I feel like switching them, ignoring wind, water and all the other nasty dust thingies). Still not really happy with the picture. Maybe need to check the others of this set also. I do like the transition there is in the sky.

empty and alone

The alone part is actually a positive point. Made this one at the Danish coast (near Randers if I’m not mistaking). I spend that week tons of hours on the beach and it’s really amazing that it’s considered a busy day if there are 10 people on the complete beach ! I can assure you it’s really relaxing to just be with nothing.

I took this picture when it was becoming darker. First I wanted to hunt for a nice sun going down, but there were to many clouds. So I pulled up my trusty old kitlens, mounted a polarisationfilter to adjust the reflection of the water a bit and tried to share the feeling of emptiness I saw there.

I did notice that the picture is a bit round from shape. Didn’t find (yet ?) an option in LR to correct that (side effect of the cheap canon 18-55 lens that I’ve used here).
