waterprocessie schipperskerk, part2

So here’s part 2 of the set. Not totally satisfied with the editing (tried to keep it as constant as possible, but some pictures tend to turn out like almost grayscale with some coloraccents left). Maybe some more tuning is needed, since some of the faces turn out pretty funky :(

But here goes ;)

waterprocessie Schipperskerk

Made during the “waterprocessie”, a habit from somewhere after WW2, where the people of Schipperskerk went to the church in Maasbracht to thank god that he protected their boats from getting sunk (they also were hiding several jews in those boats and some captured german soldiers and officers).

There will be also a part 2 of this set, still editing that set.

old and creepy landscape

This picture first was nominated for the trashcan. I was out testing a new lens (tamron 28-75/2.8 for those who wonder) and it started getting a bit late, so I walked back home.

Almost being home I saw this landscape and thought, let’s give it a try without a tri- or monopod. The result was a pretty shaky picture, tons of noise and not very sharp. I was loading up my pictures, editing some and exporting them while reading the last National Geographic. At the end I noticed a few pictures from their archives (I think those pictures were from 1850 or somewhere around that year) and thought, owh well, lets try to make this landscape look like it was put onto a photo back in those days.

I actually like the result pretty much, while it’s technically totally flawed, is has (to me that is) tons of atmosphere. Hope you enjoy !old and creepy
