empty and alone

The alone part is actually a positive point. Made this one at the Danish coast (near Randers if I’m not mistaking). I spend that week tons of hours on the beach and it’s really amazing that it’s considered a busy day if there are 10 people on the complete beach ! I can assure you it’s really relaxing to just be with nothing.

I took this picture when it was becoming darker. First I wanted to hunt for a nice sun going down, but there were to many clouds. So I pulled up my trusty old kitlens, mounted a polarisationfilter to adjust the reflection of the water a bit and tried to share the feeling of emptiness I saw there.

I did notice that the picture is a bit round from shape. Didn’t find (yet ?) an option in LR to correct that (side effect of the cheap canon 18-55 lens that I’ve used here).

crabs

made in Denmark. There were all kinds of little crabs running around with low tide. The whole set is made with a macrolens and handheld shots (so a high ISO).

a crab sitting on the remains of a fishingnet. The eyes of him are so cool ! DOF is a bit too small, but already had problems getting the image sharp (was laying in the water right in front of him, holding my camera just above the wet sand / sea).

crab with fishingnet

the remains of a crab. Seemed like he died just a few seconds ago. You could see the eyes turn pale within a few minutes.

dead

this one fiercly attacked my rubber boot, seems he doesn’t like tourists.

meeting of the fishgang

This set has been taken in Denmark, more exactly: Ebeltoft.

Me and my parents went for a walk in the city. It’s pretty cool there, lots of old buildings and museums to visit. After a while I however got a bit bored, I really wanted to go to the harbor, since I saw a pretty cool old wharf there. While my parents went to visit some more places in Ebeltoft, I went back to the harbor with my camera.

I was really happy when I saw there were nice waves and even a whole bunch of cormorants and a seagull sitting at the end. It makes the scene at bit typical, but who cares about that.

The result works pretty good in b/w. The colored versions are less attractive due to the hard lights there were. Hope you enjoy the set !
